Higashimachi Yama has burned away during WWII but restored in 1994; craftsmen repaired it without iron nails following original skills.
The decorated curtain was designed by Shiokawa Bunrin (1808-1877): one of the famous artists in Kyoto. The motifs of that design are hermit of old China, birds, and flowers.
